How Significant Opener Maintenance Is
11/28/2014 Back To BlogDo you remember the day you decided that you had enough with your manual door and wanted to install an electric garage door opener? If you don't want to go back to conventional ways of opening and closing the door, you need to respect the fact that your electric opener needs some maintenance. After all, it's an electric system. Something could go wrong just because there is a problem in the house's electric circuit. The problem though is not merely centered in your convenience. When the opener is not maintained properly and on time, your safety will be at stake and who wants to take such risks!
Treat your opener well to take care of yourself, too
Many problems might pop if the garage door opener doesn't function well. Consider some examples:
- Your overhead door won't open fully
- The door won't close well on the floor
- The door will close but keep reversing
- The opener will be noisy
- The door will suddenly stop
The list is long and not pleasant. The worst thing is that lack of garage door opener maintenance will just compromise your safety. The above problems are serious, too. If you cannot close the door, home security will automatically be compromised. If you have a door, which keeps coming up and down, you won't be able to leave the house. Yet, your safety is still the number one problem. If the sensors don't work, the door won't reverse when your child decides to pass under the descending door.
Everything is important when it comes to electric operators. From the way they are installed to their repairs, everything matters. If it's not well-installed, screws are missing, the trolley is not fastened properly, the chain is not lubricated and the photo eyes are not adjusted, you will deal with serious problems. Consider a very tiny problem: the bulbs are not replaced. It might seem unimportant to you now because it's an easy task but think about how insignificant it is again when you come home to a complete dark garage!
